The landscape as described in Peter Mayle’s books is particularly colourful with vineyards, olive groves, Cyprus trees as well as poppy, sunflower and lavender fields. Visit Fontaine the Vaucluse, one of the biggest spring in the world (630 million m3). The only exit point of a catchment ara of 1240 Km2. It's pure water and leafy environment, makes it a must place to visit in summer.
Visit the hill-top village of Gordes, a particularly stunning village especially from a viewpoint where you can also admire the valley down below with its vineyards, olvive groves, cypres trees and in-season purple lavender fields.
Visit the village of Rousillon where they exploited an ochre quarry since the 18th century. Beautiful ochre cliffs (from white, to yellow, to orange and to dark red...) surrounding and in the village. The vilagers also painted their house of the different shade of ochre.
